Analog Photography Finds Its Place In the 21st Century
Even as digital cameras become better and cheaper, and Instagram has become ubiquitous, an unlikely resurgence in old-fashioned analog photography is taking place. This is a somewhat surprising, yet fascinating trend in the photo world. And while it might seem easy to write this off as another hipster fad, it’s more complex than that.
It seems like everybody and their mother is a DSLR (Digital Single-Lens Reflex) owner. This variety of camera was used mainly by professionals and serious hobbyists until they exploded into the mainstream market a few years back. Modern DSLRs make it easy to take a perfectly exposed and focused picture. As the ease of use draws more people to become interested in digital photography, it makes sense that many of them want to explore the medium further and try shooting film.
